Booth Proud and Plain

At the same time both proud and plain,
And fashioned from worlds far away,
Unlike women shallow and vain,
Who at beauty can only play.

The way they could not she saw things
For what they were, and did not hide
The sadness that this wisdom brings,
But turned away the times she cried.
